It’s another morning of grey skies with rain in the forecast. But despite that, there is a glimmer of sunshine peeking through the minds of many- it looks like a lot of places are opening back up and we may finally be nearing the end of the tunnel!
My city is still closed for now but we’ve been told that we will start our re-opening in July if things go according to plan. So, what this makes me think of is all the things I initially planned to do during quarantine. There has been so much pressure to use the time to your advantage- to start a business or accomplish some other amazing goal.
As you may have noticed, I’ve actually spent most of quarantine in a hiatus. I felt so demotivated. Even though I love blogging and posting, the thought of trying to come up with content felt like too much. I spent a lot of time feeling guilty about it but that guilt didn’t improve anything.
So, instead, I decided to spend more time on self-care and pour into myself until I felt ready to get back to things again. And in a guilt-free way. I completely took the pressure off myself to accomplish something major. I spent most of my time going on walks with my kids, exercising, sewing, and reading. I’m really glad I did because, now, I feel like I’m ending my hiatus with so much excitement and so many ideas new projects! It really helped renew my motivation.
I did continue sewing throughout the past year but I didn’t realize how many things I’ve made until Me Made May (for those unfamiliar, you are supposed to post one thing you’ve made for every day in May). So, I wanted to share some of my favourites with you here. Let me know what you think and how you’ve spent quarantine- did you take some me time or did you stay motivated throughout?? Or maybe a bit of both?
