Hello!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything because I haven’treally had time to sew.. until this week.
So, I really wanted to share my new cropped trench because I love it!

I used Simplicity S8890 (a Mimi G Style pattern). I honestly can’t speak to how well the directions were because I used the sew along on YouTube. I can say that the follow along was very well done and easy to understand.

I found the fabric for only $2.99/Yd on moodfabrics.com and couldn’t resist. But I didn’t know what to use it for, so, it’s been sitting at the bottom of my fabric stash for about a year–sadly.

I usually don’t like to use the exact same color that they used on the pattern envelope but I wanted something I can wear with everything, so, I kept it traditional.

I can be impatient and I have a tendency to choose methods that are fast and easy. BUT I was determined to make the inside of my jacket as nice as the outside.

So, it took longer… a lot longer…. (I listened to the entire season of Nurse Ratched) but I’m so glad I decided to put in the extra effort to do Hong Kong seams ππ

It just makes me feel more confident wearing something homemade when I actually want people to see the inside! I’m not sure why since no one’s actually gonna be looking inside my jacket π€·ββοΈ I guess it’s just the sense of accomplishment.
I would love to know if you’ve made this jacket and what your thoughts were!
Thanks for reading and happy sewing!
